Project CHIMAIRA
Have you ever dreamed of a civilization that does not suffer from
war and crime? A society built on altruism and respect?
We created an absolutely imperceptible chemical compound which will
suppress emotions of carbon based lifeforms. No emotion results in
loss of anger, hate, antipathy and xenophobia - to name some of
the reasons that drive people into warfare and crime.
Our scientists are sure that there will be no side effects that are
not worth to face when there is the chance for world peace.

How does it work?
First we thought about releasing massive amounts of the chemical compound into
the air and wait for the circulation of air to transport it all over the world.
Unfortunately a high concentration turned out to be toxic at certain places when
we tested this distribution approach on a small scale. The result was inevitable:
Death of all our test subjects.
We learned a lot from this experiment and are now sure that we developed a safe and
comfortable way for global distribution while reducing the risk of intoxication
to a minimum: A retro virus!
The virus will be released at a secret location and modifies the genetics of oxygen
producing plants. These plants will continue to produce oxygen while performing
photosynthesis. At night, the modification will allow the plant to continue the
process without being exposed to sunlight but instead of oxygen, it will convert
carbon dioxide to chimaira, which is - as you may have guessed - our chemical compound.
The rest will be accomplished by bees and other animals that will help to spread the
modified genes all over the planet. Due to the time this process will take, we feel
confident that lifeforms will adapt to the rising ppm of chimaira instead of suffering from
intoxication.
What about other emotions?
Most probably you're talking about things like love, trust and sympathy and et cetera.
Of course these emotions are not excluded from the process, but you won't miss them once they
are gone. Keep in mind that those emotions are often subject to change and turn responsible
humans into creatures that act on behalf of primary instincts that may lead to violence.
After all, emotions like love are overrated and slow down evolution and the progress of science.
Be assured that, since 'missing' something is also considered to be an emotion, you won't
miss emotions once you are liberated from their burden.
Is it possible to maintain an emotionless society?
Of course it will be.
You might want to relate this form of society to the "Vulcan society" which were
described by the science fiction TV series "Star Trek". We feel confident in our
believe that a society built on respect and logical conclusions has no need for emotions.
